People Moves: AIG Moves Flatt to Global CUO; Tooker Now President at The Hartford; Berkley Financial Names Brinkley Chief of Claims
American International Group (AIG) said Christopher Flatt, currently head of AIG North America alternative channels, has been named global chief underwriting officer, effective immediately.
Flatt also held the the position of interim CEO of managing general underwriter Private Client Select Insurance Services. He was recently succeeded by Ross Bowie.
Prior to joining AIG in 2017, Flatt held various leadership roles at Marsh McLennan for over 15 years.
As CUO, Flatt will report directly to AIG CEO Peter Zaffino, and join the company’s executive leadership team. He succeeds Christopher Schaper, who was appointed chief risk officer of AIG in November 2024.
Erin Fry, president of Glatfelter and EVP of AIG commercial lines programs, will take the role of head of AIG North America alternative channels, effective immediately.
The Hartford Names Tooker Company President
The Hartford, headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, promoted A. Morris ‘Mo’ Tooker to the position of president effective Feb. 1. The new position adds personal lines to his current responsibilities as head of commercial lines overseeing small commercial, middle and large commercial and global specialty, as well as enterprise sales and distribution and risk services.
Tooker joined The Hartford in 2015 as chief underwriting officer and has served in several leadership roles during the last nine years. Before joining The Hartford, Tooker served as president of General Reinsurance Corporation.
Berkley Financial Specialists Promotes Brinkley to VP and Chief Claims Officer
Berkley Financial Specialists, a Berkley Company, announced that Adam Brinkley has been promoted to vice president and chief claims officer. Brinkley succeeds Megan Manogue, who retired after a nearly 10-year term.
Brinkley joined Berkley Financial Specialists almost four years ago as a senior claims counsel before being promoted to director claims counsel. Before joining Berkley Financial Specialists, Adam worked as an attorney at a national law firm, focusing on fidelity and surety law.
