RIMS, Chartis Launch Hall of Fame for Risk Managers
The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and global insurer Chartis have announced the formation of the Risk Management Hall of Fame to honor those who have made significant contributions to advancing the risk management discipline.
New members to the Hall of Fame will be announced each year at the RIMS Annual Conference, with the first inductees to be unveiled May 2 at the 2011 conference in Vancouver.
Nominees will be considered among risk management professionals around the globe. New inductees will be selected by a committee, whose members include the president and executive director of RIMS, Chartis executives and three other industry leaders.
Criteria considered by for membership in the hall will include considerable contributions to the field; significant achievements, innovation and trend setting; demonstrated leadership, character and service; and the highest caliber of ethical and professional conduct.
Mary Roth, RIMS executive director, said the group and its state chapters have recognized talented and dedicated risk management professionals over the years with various awards. “What we aim to do with the Risk Management Hall of Fame is take that a step further and give today’s risk professionals something to strive for,” she said.
“We look forward to awarding this recognition on an ongoing basis, to inspire other industry leaders to continue to achieve, innovate and further the field of risk management,” said John Doyle, CEO, Chartis Global Commercial Insurance.
