Jay-Z Sued by Workers Compensation Board of New York

Workers Compensation Board of New York filed a lawsuit against rapper Jay-Z for allegedly failing to make workers’ comp payments worth $18,000 for his domestic employees, according to a report.

Entertainment news site TMZ.com reported yesterday that the Board filed the suit because the music mogul allegedly failed to pay workers’ comp insurance during a three-month period in 2009 for his cooks, maids and other domestic workers.

The Workers Compensation Board sued the rapper to collect $18,000 in fines. And the court has since ordered him to pay up the money, according to the report.

But media representatives for the rapper say it was just a simple administrative error and that Jay-Z never actually missed a payment on his insurance.
