Sky-High Premiums Force Closure of New Hampshire Flight School

December 7, 2010

The flight school at New Hampshire’s Lebanon Municipal Airport has disbanded.

Greg Soho of Signal Aviation, which ran the school, says the decision to drop the program had nothing to do with demand for flight lessons.

He says the school made it difficult for Signal to find lower insurance rates.

Signal is actively negotiating with a company to take over the flight school.

Soho tells the Valley News it had been hoped the new company would have come in before the old program ended, but the negotiations are taking longer than anticipated.

When the program ended there were between eight and 14 active students and three employees.

The hope is the new company will rehire the instructors.
