Partnership will offer Big ‘I’ members and state associations one-hour insurance training modules.

October 1, 2024—The Big “I” is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with the Insurance Journal‘s Academy of Insurance (IJA). This partnership will offer discounted access to IJA courses for Big “I” members to enhance knowledge and provide training to support both emerging and seasoned insurance agents. The courses are designed to help independent agents improve their operations and to help reduce errors & omissions claims.

The Big “I” is the leading national trade association for independent insurance agents and brokers across the country. The association offers essential tools, resources, education and advocacy to support its members and state associations and help them sustain a competitive advantage.

IJA offers a broad range of training resources for insurance professionals. The online training courses, taught by leading insurance experts, focus on sales training, agency management, coverage analysis and human resources. IJA offers both live and on-demand classes, as well as entertaining discussions with presenters to provide further insight into the topic presented.

“We are proud to join forces with the Big ‘I,’ an association that shares our dedication to professional growth and education,” says Patrick Wraight, director of education at the IJA. “By becoming more accessible to Big ‘I’ agency members, we are investing in the future leaders of our industry and ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to succeed.”

Big “I” state associations will have the opportunity to provide their members with access to IJA as part of their education offerings, and courses are accessible through a link on the national Big “I” website. By partnering with IJA to provide one-hour, non-continuing education (CE) courses, the Big “I” underscores its commitment to giving independent insurance agents and brokers the best possible educational resources to improve procedures, learning and profitability.

“By providing access to IJA at a discounted annual rate, agencies will benefit from non-CE training aimed at improving agent and agency owner knowledge,” said Nancy Germond, Big “I” executive director, risk management and education. “Every employee can take advantage of first-class training that will improve their operations, introduce or refresh coverage knowledge and help them avoid E&O claims.”

Further, with many newly licensed agents, industry hiring challenges and a high volume of mergers and acquisitions, which can impact E&O claims, these trainings can help agencies manage the current business environment.
