Containment on Arizona Wind-Driven Wildfire Grows
Roughly 200 firefighters continued to battle a wildfire in Arizona that quickly grew to more than 14,000 acres.
Firefighters have kept the Wildcat Fire size from growing over the past day, but extremely low humidity, warm temperatures and gusty afternoon winds continued to be of concern.
The fire forced the closure of portions of the Tonto National Forest.
The blaze, which is has improved from 0% contained to 36% contained in two days. is burning in grass and brush. The cause of the fire is listed as “human.”
