California’s Thomas Fire Now Third Largest in State History
California’s Thomas Fire is roughly 45 percent contained and is now considered the third largest wildfire in state history, authorities say.
Firefighters battling the fire northwest of Los Angeles are working against another high winds.
The fire which has gone on for two weeks and burned nearly 270,000 acres and has become the third largest wildfire in the state’s modern history, according to Calfire. It has destroyed more than 1,000 structures.
