$1M Settlement in Police Shooting in Colorado Capital
City councilors in Denver, Colo. have approved a nearly $1 million settlement with the family of a teenager who was shot and killed by police while driving a stolen car toward an officer in 2015.
The proposed settlement in the January 2015 of Jessica Hernandez was announced by city officials last week. City councilors voted unanimously to approve it Monday without comment.
The shooting came shortly after the officer-involved deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and Eric Garner in New York.
