Judge Dismisses Lawsuit by Athletes against University of Oregon
A federal judge has dismissed lawsuits filed by three former University of Oregon basketball players who were suspended after being accused of an off-campus sexual assault.
The Register Guard reported that U.S. District Judge Michael McShane sided with UO and announced that he found no evidence to back up the players’ argument that university officials denied them due process and acted on gender bias.
The athletes acknowledged having a sexual encounter with a female student but say it was consensual.
A lawyer involved in the case says an amended lawsuit will be filed.
