Series of Small Quakes Hit Rural Northern California Area
A series of small earthquakes rattled a rural area of Northern California overnight.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude-4.7 quake struck at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday about 20 miles east of Janesville in Lassen County.
It was followed within minutes by two more quakes, a magnitude-3.4 and a magnitude-4.0, around the same area near the Nevada border.
The epicenters were about 45 miles north of Reno, Nevada.
A dispatcher with the Lassen County Sheriff’s Department says there have been no reports of damage or injuries.
