Registration of California Tour Bus That Crashed Questioned
California regulators are investigating whether a double-decker tour bus that crashed and injured 20 in San Francisco was properly registered with state authorities.
The California Public Utilities Commission said this week that the bus involved in the weekend accident appears not to have been registered with the agency as required.
The CPUC says the company City Sightseeing has a current permit to conduct tours, maintains insurance and has cooperated with California Highway Patrol inspections of its vehicles on file.
But the CPUC says it has no records of the bus that crashed Friday afternoon.
