Arizona Wildfire That Forced Evacuations Now Partial Contained
A wildfire in Arizona that has grown to more than 6,000 acres and forces hundreds to evacuate is now 40 percent contained, fire officials say.
The Willow fire in Mohave Valley is being battled by more than 300 firefighting personnel. Relatively light winds so far Monday and Tuesday have kept the fire intensity low, according to the latest fire report.
“Suppression actions continued on the perimeter of the Willow Fire with firefighters improving established fire lines and initiating mop-up,” an official fire report states. “This action, the location and cooling of any hot spots near the fire line, will continue in the days ahead.”
