2 Former Women’s Basketball Players Sue Utah College
Two former Dixie State University women’s basketball players are accusing the Utah college of racial, sexual and religious discrimination in a federal lawsuit.
The Spectrum newspaper in St. George reported the two ex-players accuse former women’s basketball coach Catherria Turner of treating black players differently than white players and harassing them about their sexual orientation.
Nanea Woods and Austen Harris accuse Turner of allowing her father to be a co-coach even though he wasn’t employed by school and of and forcing them to practice without water.
The AP sought comment on the accusations from Turner, but could not verify whether she had a listed telephone number or an attorney.
Turner was fired in November after less than two years in the job.
