Wyoming Lawmakers Consider Raising State Highway Speed Limits
State senators have advanced a bill that would increase the speed limit to 70 mph on some Wyoming highways.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported the Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs committee advanced the bill this week by a 3-2 vote. The bill would allow the Wyoming Department of Transportation to raise speed limits on the state highways it deems safe for faster travel.
Delbert McOmie, WYDOT’s chief engineer, says the state would have to consider different design plans to account for higher speeds when rebuilding the roadways.
