Small Tornado in Washington Confirmed by Weather Service
The National Weather Service confirms it was a small tornado that knocked down some trees and blew around loose objects Sunday afternoon at Gig Harbor in Washington.
A Weather Service survey team determined the tornado was on the ground for 10 to 15 minutes and traveled 4 miles with a maximum width of 175 feet.
There were no injuries.
Washington typically has one or two small tornadoes a year.
