Comedian’s Vegas Suit Goes on With Jury Selection
Comedian George Wallace is in a Las Vegas courtroom seeking damages from a Strip resort for a leg injury he received when he fell over electrical wiring during a private performance in 2007.
Jury selection continued Thursday in Clark County District Court, with the trial possibly starting Friday.
The lawsuit filed in 2009 claims Wallace suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon while performing a private show at the Bellagio resort for an HSBC Card Services Inc. corporate audience.
Wallace’s attorney, Dominic Gentile, says he will seek $9 million from the Bellagio for the injury and lost income. Bellagio lawyers say Wallace was careless.
HSBC attorney Loren Young says his client reached a confidential settlement with Wallace this week.
Wallace is a headline entertainer at the Flamingo hotel-casino.
