Ex-workers Sue Over Pay on Oregon Public Projects
Former workers on public projects say in a federal court suit in Eugene, Ore. they were underpaid and have asked for more than $3.5 million.
The Eugene Register-Guard reported the suit names four former workers as plaintiffs but was filed as a class action for as many as 130 current and former workers.
An executive of Delta Sand & Gravel says employees were reimbursed after the company learned it had unknowingly miscalculated compensation.
The suit says the company paid about $400,000 to more than 100 workers as part of a settlement with the state Bureau of Labor and Industries.
A workers attorney says the settlement was for less than the full wages and overtime that workers had coming, and the state didn’t pursue damages and penalties.
