CEA Taps First Chief Information Officer
The California Earthquake Authority named Todd Coombes as the CEA’s first chief information officer.
Following a recommendation from consultant PricewaterhouseCoopers, CEA’s governing board approved adding a CIO to the executive team. Coombes starts June 3.
Coombes, a business-technology executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience in insurance and other industries, comes to the CEA from ITT Educational Services Inc., where he was executive vice president and CIO. Before ITT, he was part of the leadership team at CNO Financial Group.
In 2012, Computerworld named Coombes one of its “Premier 100 IT Leaders.”
CEA is a publicly managed, privately funded organization that provides catastrophe residential earthquake insurance and encourages Californians to reduce their risk of earthquake loss.
