Rains Cause Lake Havasu City Flooding, Man Dies
Heavy rains caused flash flooding in parts of western Arizona, and a 38-year-old man died as a result of the high waters in Lake Havasu City.
Police Sgt. Joe Harrold says the death occurred Friday night as flash flooding hit parts of the city.
The Arizona Republic reports that the man and two others were in a vehicle when it was caught in a rush of water. The two made it to safety, but the man was caught in the rapid flow of water.
The police dispatch office says the flooding mainly subsided by late Friday.
The National Weather Service says storms produced at least two inches of rain in parts of Yuma County. Parts of the Phoenix area were under a flash flood watch.
