Colorado Allstate Agents Hiring Announcement Follows Lackluster Jobs Report

In the wake of lackluster unemployment figures released on Friday a large insurance company is trying to draw attention to opportunities within Colorado in the industry and its firm.

Friday’s report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows jobs creation was slightly below what economists had expected, 80,000 jobs nationally added for October versus the 90,000 expected, and an unemployment rate that dipped slightly to 9 percent.

On the heels of that report came a press announcement on Friday that Allstate Insurance agency owners throughout Colorado are planning to hire some 70 licensed sales professionals by the end of the year. The company’s announcement noted that Colorado’s unemployment rate remained flat at 8.3 percent

The Northbrook, Ill.-based company stated that interested candidates should have selling and customer service skills, at least a high school diploma and the ability to obtain or begin the process of obtaining a property and casualty license at the time of hiring.

“We encourage interested candidates to not let the licensing process scare them off,” a Denver-based Allstate agent Michelle Colaizzi said in a statement. “We emphasize it’s a valuable commitment to make and an opportunity to get a head start in a recession-proof industry.”

Candidates can apply for licensed sales professional positions by calling local Allstate agency owners in Colorado, the company said.
