Report on Destructive Colorado Fourmile Fire Due Out Today
A preliminary report on the Fourmile wildfire in September, 2010, considered one of the most destructive in Colorado history, is due out today.
A spokeswoman for Colorado Sen. Mark Udall said he plans to release a report the wildfire last year near Boulder that destroyed nearly 170 homes.
The study was prepared by U.S. Forest Service scientists and the Colorado State Forest Service. It is expected to analyze things like firefighting efforts, why certain structures burned and plans for recovery.
The report will be released at a press conference in Boulder. The report is preliminary, and still must undergo peer review, Udall’s office emphasized.
