Colo. Town Gives Green Light to Golf Carts on Roads
Erie, Colo., is the second community in Boulder County to allow people to drive golf carts on public streets.
The town trustees voted 4-3 to allow the electric vehicles on streets with posted speed limits of 25 mph. Drivers must also have driver’s licenses, be at least 21 and have liability insurance.
Lyons passed a similar ordinance last year. Erie residents say riding around town in the electric golf carts is more environmentally friendly than a car.
