Budget Shortfall Forces Oregon Insurance Division to Close Some Days
The current recession has reduced Oregon revenues, and has forced the Legislature to make deep cuts. Coping with these cuts includes closing the Department of Consumer and Business Services and most other state agencies on 10 Fridays that fall throughout the current two-year budget period. The Insurance Division staff is included in the furloughs.
Online services that are normally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week will be available on the closure day.
Closure days include:
- August 20, 2010
- September 17, 2010
- November 26, 2010
- March 18, 2011
- May 20, 2011.
