Lobbyist, Committee Consultant Joins California Insurance Association Staff

Mark Sektnan, a veteran Sacramento, Calif., lobbyist and committee consultant, joined The Association of California Insurance Companies’ (ACIC) staff as vice president with primary responsibility for advocacy of personal lines issues.

Sektnan has nearly 25 years of experience in government and private industry in Sacramento. He served as chief consultant to the Assembly Insurance Committee in 2004-2006. Earlier in his public service career, he was chief consultant to the Assembly Education Committee and the Assembly Governmental Efficiency and Consumer Protection Committee.

He also was vice president of legislative affairs with the California Association of Health Plans and assistant vice president with the American Insurance Association. Most recently, Sektnan was state relations officer with the American International Group. He also served as past chair of ACIC’s Auto Committee.
