Calif.’s Spellane Named Rookie of the Year
Steven Spellane of ABD Insurance and Financial Services has been named “Rookie of the Year” by the San Diego Council of the Associated General Contractors. Spellane was honored for his involvement in local construction industry initiatives during the organization’s annual awards program.
The San Diego Council of the AGC was founded 80 years ago and has 680 members in the region, including general contractors, specialty contractors, service providers and developers. It represents the industry in government relations, labor relations, industry relations, safety, education and professional development. The Rookie of the Year Award has been given since 1994.
Spellane, based in San Diego, joined ABD in Jan. 2006, adding his more than 10 years of industry experience in all phases of construction, real estate, technology, manufacturing, retail and financial services to the Carlsbad team. He previously was a producer with Willis San Diego and an operations manager for an accounting consultancy. He founded The Foundation San Diego – a networking organization for construction industry executives. He was also co-founder of the North County Venture Council, Carlsbad, a networking organization for emerging companies and a range of service providers who support them.
