San Diego Association to Contribute Nearly $25,000 to Local Charities
The Insurance Brokers & Agents Association of San Diego raised almost $19,000 at its December 1st holiday luncheon, the proceeds of which will be divided between two local charities: Burn Institute and San Diego Center for Children.
“For more than 30 years, IBA San Diego has been making charitable contributions to the community at this time of year, but this year our fundraising has been exceptionally successful because our talented and creative board members have re-tooled our annual holiday luncheon and fall golf tournament,” said Steve Shea of Barney and Barney, who serves as President of IBA San Diego.
“This year’s holiday luncheon tops the $13,000 raised last year, making it the best year ever,” Shea said.
In addition to the funds raised at the luncheon, IBA San Diego will donate nearly $6,000 to the A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center, an emergency shelter for children for abused, abandoned and neglected children, which was raised at their fall golf tournament.
IBA San Diego is one of 36 affiliated local associations of IBA West, a trade association representing independent insurance agents and insurance brokers in California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.
