SAIS Announces New “Direct Access” Business Model

February 15, 2005

Last year, Richard Swoy, chairman of Superior Access Insurance Services Inc. announced that SAIS was changing the way online wholesalers do business with their subscription based business model. Agents and brokers became Subscribers who had real-time access to multiple markets, rating and quotes for personal and commercial lines, access to brokerage facilities and E&S markets without needing a license, yet continued to own their own book of business while receiving higher commissions.

Based on the success of this business model, Mike Reiter joined the firm as vice president premium subscriptions “Direct Access” and is taking the business model one step further. SAIS will soon have Premium Subscribers who will have “Direct Access.” Premium subscribers in the Direct Access program will work directly with the insurance carriers they only dreamed they would be able to access – usually through each insurance company’s interface.

The “Direct Access” program is going live soon. According to Reiter, “Direct Access takes our SAIS business model to the next level. Working directly with participating insurance companies, our premium subscribers will be licensed and appointed and they will have binding authority. Premium subscribers will have Direct Access while also accessing everything else SAIS offers on a preferred basis. For Premium subscribers, it’s an entirely different way of doing business – faster and more efficiently.”
