Fifth Annual Educational Forum Benefits Community Children

June 15, 2004

The Mt. Diablo Chapter CPCU and the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation – Child Abuse Prevention Program (IICF-CAPP) recently wrapped up their Fifth Annual Educational Forum for the insurance industry. The Forum chairman and moderator, Richard Coskren, noted: “The panel presentation was outstanding and through the donations of the industry and the attendance, it provided great benefit to the Child Abuse Prevention organizations that IICF-CAPP supports.”

The panel presentation considered the current and future outlook on such hot topics as insurance legislative atmosphere, construction risk exposures and Worker’s Compensation market. The expert panelists were Sandra Dickerson, CEO of Your People Professionals, Joyce Sharaf, managing senior financial analyst of A.M. Best & Company, Robert Benvenuto, managing director, Gallagher Financial Products, and Richard Anderson, Employers Compensation Insurance Co.

“Because of the great results of the Forum and the super support received from the insurance industry in the East Bay, IICF-CAPP was able, so far this year, to make grants to a total of nine local community non-profit agencies which seek to increase the awareness and prevention of child abuse and neglect in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties,” said Jon Lindsay, president of IICF-CAPP. Grants were presented at the Forum to three of those organizations: Bay Area Crises Nursery, Concord; Children’s Hospital Foundation, Oakland; and Contra Costa Crisis Center, Concord.
