Calif. Legislature Passes Workers’ Comp Bill

April 16, 2004

The California state Assembly overwhelmingly passed a workers’ compensation reform measure to repair the state’s troubled workers’ comp system by a 77-03 vote, while the State Senate passed the measure by a 33-03 vote, according to Reuters.

The vote marks a victory for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has made workers’ comp reform a top priority under his administration, vowing to lower costs for employers across the state. He is expected to sign the bill into law on April 19.
