Garamendi Offers Quake Sympathy
California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi offered his sympathies and some advice in a statement to the victims of the Paso San Robles earthquake last week.
“I offer my deepest sympathy to the families of the victims in today’s earthquake, and I pray for the safety of everyone else within the radius of damage,” the commissioner said.
“My department stands ready to provide assistance on all insurance matters that may arise. For those who live in earthquake danger zones but do not have earthquake insurance, you may want to consider purchasing a policy. Also, it is of utmost importance that you make every effort to retrofit your home and its contents to minimize the danger to you and your property in future earthquakes.”
