Tudor Appointed EVP of State Fund

January 13, 2003

California State Compensation Insurance Fund announced the promotion of James C. Tudor to executive vice president. Tudor succeeds Dianne C. Oki, who on Jan. 1 assumed the presidency of State Fund which insures approximately half of all California businesses.

Tudor, 55, of Brisbane, previously served as vice president on the Executive Committee of State Fund. He brings more than three decades of State Fund and workers’ comp insurance industry experience–including seven years on the Executive Committee–to his new post.

As vice president, Tudor helped steer State Fund through various organizational and system milestones including record premium and policyholder growth. In addition, Tudor engineered and managed technological initiatives, including creation of statewide regional service networks which enhanced operational efficiencies. As a member of the Executive Committee, Tudor helped State Fund maintain its financial strength.

“Jim’s tenure on the Executive Committee has coincided with one of the most tumultuous periods in our history,” said State Fund president Dianne C. Oki. “His intellect, expertise and extraordinary commitment to our mission have played an important role in the Committee’s ability to meet these challenges. State Fund, along with California’s employers and injured workers, will continue to benefit greatly from his leadership, creativity and innovation.”

After joining State Fund in 1971 as an auditor in the organization’s Ventura District Office, Tudor earned promotions and appointments to various managerial positions including Marketing Department supervisor, Marketing manager, Human Resources supervising personnel consultant, Business Services manager and San Francisco District office manager. He was promoted to vice president on April 1, 1995.

Tudor has also worked on behalf of philanthropic, social and charitable organizations across California. At State Fund, Tudor has championed programs that have resulted in continuous statewide private and public recognition of State Fund as a leader in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
