Nev. Commissioner Allows for Emergency Work
As a result of wind storms earlier this month, Nevada Insurance Commissioner Alice Molasky-Arman gave the temporary go-ahead for non-resident salaried adjusters or independent adjusters who are licensed in their home state to adjust claims in Nevada due to damage caused by the event.
Molasky-Arman said this move will assist insurance companies in expediting claims and assessing the amount of damages that resulted from the wind storms.
Under ordinary circumstances, only resident adjusters are allowed to handle claims, however Nevada law permits the commissioner to make an exception in the event of a disaster.
