Riverside, Calif., Woman Charged with Workers’ Comp Fraud
Martha Rodriquez of Riverside, Calif. woman was arrested on workers’ compensation fraud and perjury charges June 1.
Rodriquez, 37, also known by the name of Graciela Castro, was booked into Riverside County Jail on a $5,000 felony warrant following her arrest by California Department of Insurance (CDI) investigators.
The CDI investigators allege that back in December of 1998, Rodriquez claimed an injury to her lower back and left leg while employed as a temporary worker for a temporary staffing firm.
Rodriquez allegedly made misrepresentations to her doctors by failing to note a prior workers’ compensation claim from a previous injury to her lower back.
CDI investigators furhter allege that Rodriquez committed perjury in her deposition by denying any prior injuries to her lower back. She also denied any previous treatment for injury to her lower back, and denied having worked since her injury in December 1998.
