CDI Revokes License of Bakersfield Insurance Agent
California Insurance Commissioner Harry W. Low announced the insurance license revocation of Bakersfield agent Jack Laverna Nation Jr. The revocation follows a Cease and Desist Order issued against the agent by the California Department of Insurance on Sept. 22. Nation faces potential criminal prosecution by the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.
The CDI began an investigation after several complaints were made against Nation by his clients. According to investigators, several of Nation’s clients paid for insurance that they never received or were owed premium refunds that were never delivered.
CDI investigators subsequently raided Nation’s home and office and seized business records. According to the CDI, Nation admitted that in past cases he gave clients insurance documents with bogus policy numbers.
