Florida Peninsula MGA Changes Name to Windward Risk Managers
Florida Peninsula Managers, the managing general agency for Florida Peninsula Insurance and Edison Insurance, has officially changed its name to Windward Risk Managers, the name of the company that has managed it for years.
The change comes a month after the companies named Gary Cantor, one of the founders of Florida Peninsula Insurance, as vice chairman of the firms’ holding company’s board of directors. Clint Strauch is now president of Windward Risk Managers.
“The only thing changing is the name,” Strauch said in a statement. “We have evolved beyond our origins as Florida Peninsula Managers, and our new name reflects our broader scope and ambition.”
Windward Risk was founded in 2005 with Florida Peninsula. In 2010, Windward acquired Edison Insurance. Together, the two carriers have more than 250,000 policies in force, the companies said in a news release. This year, the Boca Raton-based Windward launched Ovation Home Insurance Exchange.
