People Moves: Florida Peninsula Holdings Makes Cantor Vice Chair of Board
Florida Peninsula Holdings and Windward Holdings, which together own and manage Florida Peninsula Insurance Co., Edison Insurance and Ovation Home Insurance Exchange, has named its co-founder vice chairman of the board.
Gary Cantor, who, along with Paul Adkins, CEO of the holding companies; Clint Strauch, president; and Stacey Giulianti, now chief legal officer, founded Florida Peninsula, has been chief financial officer at the Boca Raton-based companies. In a news release, Adkins credited Cantor with overseeing tremendous growth for the insurers in Florida.
Florida Peninsula and Edison together have total written premium of more than $1 billion and have more than 250,000 policyholders.
Cantor previously held financial management positions at Digital Equipment, Dole Foods, Boatphone, and fhe ounded Seven Seas Communication. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Boston University and an MBA from Harvard University.
