Columbia County, Georgia Fire Ruled Arson
A recent fire In Columbia County, Georgia has been ruled arson, according to Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigations Unit.
The fire occurred on Sullivan Hartfield Road in Evans and was reported at approximately 6:43 p.m. on July 6th. Authorities determined the fire was intentionally set in the living room area of the modular home.
“Upon arrival, first responders witnessed smoke coming from the residence and rapidly extinguished the fire,” said Commissioner King. “The occupant, John Kelly Dickerson, was seen fleeing the residence and is a person of interest in this investigation.”
Fire Investigations Unit assisted the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department with the investigation.
Georgia Arson Control is offering up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
