76 Vehicles Broken Into at Atlanta Apartment Complex Parking Garage
Seventy-six cars were broken into at an apartment complex parking garage, according to Atlanta police.
Residents at The Edge apartments came out to the garage Monday to find broken glass from smashed windows, news outlets reported. Some said security gates at the garage hadn’t been working in recent days.
The apartment complex, which is located near the popular urban trail known as the BeltLine, just came under new management, news outlets reported. The Connor Group said in a statement that it has plans to improve security at the complex.
“Vehicle break-ins can happen anywhere, and unfortunately, our community was targeted,” The Connor Group statement said according to news outlets.
“Break-ins happen but, 76 at once? That’s pretty ridiculous,” Rob Hartle told WXIA-TV.
Patrols have increased in the area, according to Atlanta police.
Some residents said apartments had been broken into at the complex over the past few weeks.
“The break-ins have been happening since Christmas, so this is nothing new,” Carla Dixon told WAGA-TV.
“I guess it’s time to look for a new place,” Kayla Frady said.
