Several Injured by Deck Collapse at North Carolina Beach House

A deck collapsed Monday at a home in Ocean Isle Beach, injuring several people.

Ocean Isle Beach Mayor Debbie Sloane Smith tells news outlets that the incident occurred Monday afternoon. Smith says she was told a group of people had gathered on a set of stairs for a photo when the structure gave way.

Smith says several people were taken to a hospital, including some who were air-lifted. The severity of the injuries was not immediately clear.
