West Virginia Pipeline Firm Ordered to Pay $3.7M in Overtime Violations
A natural gas pipeline construction management company has been ordered to pay $3.7 million in back wages and damages to safety inspectors for failing to pay overtime wages.
The U.S. Labor Department says in a news release Team Environmental LLC of Millwood was ordered in federal court to pay the amount to 300 safety inspectors for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The statement says the company failed to pay overtime to employees who worked more than 40 hours in a week.
According to the company’s website, Team Environmental has conducted inspection services for natural gas companies in Appalachia since 2007.
