Insurors of Tennessee Promotes Smith to CMO, Adds Layman as Legislative Director
Insurors of Tennessee has promoted Daniel Smith to chief marketing officer and added Jim Layman as director of Government Relations.
The new positions at the trade association, which represents independent insurance agents in the state, are effective immediately.
Smith previously served as director of Communications for the organization, a position he had held since 2007. He serves on the ASAE Marketing Council and the Big “I” Marketing Summit Planning Committee.
Layman joins Insurors after more than seven years with state government including most recently for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS) as legislative liaison and rules coordinator.
Prior to TDMHSAS, Layman worked for the Tennessee Department of Health as a legislative liaison and the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development as director of unemployment insurance appeals. He is also licensed attorney.
Insurors of Tennessee is a trade association that was founded in 1893 and currently represents over 400 independent insurance agencies in Tennessee. Its members offer consumers a “Trusted Choice” of insurance companies, advocacy and professional advice for all their insurance needs.
