North Carolina Man Accused of Conspiring to Commit Insurance Fraud
A North Carolina man has been arrested for allegedly conspiring to commit insurance fraud. According to a statement from the North Carolina Department of Insurance, Timothy Allen Green, 54, of Louisburg has been charged with one count each of insurance fraud and felony conspiracy.
NCDOI criminal investigators accuse Green of conspiring in the disposal of a vehicle claimed to have been stolen with National Green Insurance Co. on Aug. 15, 2016. Investigators allege Green knowingly made statements to support claims the vehicle was stolen in an attempt to obtain insurance benefits.
Green was arrested on Oct. 25 in Franklin County and place under a $100,000 bond.
The Department of Insurance employs 20 sworn state law enforcement officers dedicated to investigating and prosecuting claims of insurance and bail bonding fraud.
