State Farm to Build Operations Center in Georgia
State Farm Insurance Co. plans to build a national operations center in the Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody.
Dunwoody city officials announced the plans last Thursday.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the facility will be built on a nearly four-acre site at Hammond Drive and Perimeter Center Parkway, across from the Dunwoody MARTA station.
City officials said the site will serve as the heart of Bloomington, Ill.-based State Farm’s Perimeter corporate campus.
The announcement did not say how many jobs would be created, when construction would begin or other details.
In February, State Farm confirmed it was expanding its operations in the Atlanta area, Dallas and Phoenix. In addition to the 3.9-acre site, State Farm recently bought the 10-story Hammond Exchange building and 13 acres of undeveloped land in Dunwoody.
