W.Va. Granted $12 M for June Storms

More than $12 million in federal disaster aid has been approved to help recovery efforts in four counties in West Virginia hit by severe storms in June.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said Wednesday that the assistance includes home repair and rent grants totaling $4.6 million.

Another $6 million has been approved to reimburse government agencies and certain nonprofits for storm-related costs.

Monday is the deadline to register for FEMA assistance and apply for low-interest loans from the Small Business Administration.

The Obama administration approved a disaster declaration for Logan, McDowell, Mingo and Wyoming counties after severe storms on June 12 caused flooding and mudslides.
