Georgia Preacher, Son Face Church Arson Charge
A Georgia preacher and his son accused of burning down their church to claim an insurance check are scheduled to appear in Barrow County Superior Court.
Quincy Arnold of Lawrenceville, the 50-year-old pastor of the former New Life Deliverance Church Ministries, his son, 25-year-old Maurice Arnold, and 48-year-old Bruce Edward Smith of Monroe are scheduled to appear in court today, more than four years after the small church burned.
They are facing charges including arson, vandalizing a place of worship, conspiracy to commit arson and insurance fraud.
An attorney for the Arnolds did not return telephone calls seeking comment. James Rogers, the attorney for Smith, said he could not comment on the case now.
