Zureich to Succeed Arnold at North Carolina’s Lawyers Mutual

Lawyers Mutual Liability Insurance Co. of North Carolina announced that Gerald Arnold is retiring from his position as president of the company, effective Dec. 31, 2009.

Arnold joined Lawyers Mutual in 1998 following his retirement as chief judge of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and has served as senior vice president and, more recently, president of Lawyers Mutual.

Arnold will be succeeded by Daniel M. Zureich, who will become president and chief executive officer of Lawyers Mutual effective Jan. 1, 2010. Zureich is senior managing director of Aon Benfield, an international reinsurance intermediary and consulting firm serving the insurance industry.He has served as a reinsurance broker for Lawyers Mutual.

Lawyers Mutual is the largest provider of professional liability insurance for North Carolina lawyers. It was founded in 1977.
