Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Board Cuts Ties to Law Firm
A Kentucky League of Cities agency has stopped using a law firm where the husband of the League’s executive director works.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the League’s Insurance Services board decided last week to immediately stop using the firm of Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love, where Bernard Lovely works. He is the husband of League executive director Sylvia Lovely.
The decision came a few weeks after the Herald-Leader reported that the League of Cities has paid $2.3 million over the last 10 years to that firm and another one where Bernard Lovely was a partner.
The League of Cities is a nonprofit that provides lobbying, financial and insurance services to 382 Kentucky cities.
