Florida CFO Miffed at Insurance Commissioner Over Insurer Report
Florida’s chief financial officer had some harsh words for the state’s top insurance regulator.
CFO Alex Sink told Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty that she was insulted that a report in response to a request for information she made two weeks ago to prepare for this Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting was delivered to her office at 8 p.m. Monday night.
McCarty apologized, but Sink was still fuming more than two hours later. She said after the meeting that McCarty failed to complete an assignment on time despite having two weeks to do it.
Sink, who is the presumptive Democratic nominee for governor next year, wouldn’t say whether she was in favor of keeping McCarty in his job. McCarty, however, does have the support of Gov. Charlie Crist.
