Insurance Agent Named to South Carolina Parole Board
The owner of a South Carolina insurance business is the newest member of the South Carolina Board of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.
Gov. Mark Sanford appointed Alan Gardner of Newberry to the post last week.
Gardner has served on the state Association of Auto Insurance Agents. He also served as chief of staff for Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer in 2003 and 2004.
The parole board is made up of seven members — one each from the state’s congressional districts and an at-large member. Gardner represents the Fifth Congressional District and will serve a six-year term.
