Florida Debuts Online Insurance Library
The Florida Department of Financial Services has developed an online Insurance Library to provide Floridians with on financial and insurance issues. The Insurance Library also has information to assist citizens as they prepare for the hurricane season, which begins June 1.
The Insurance Library, available at MyFloridaCFO.com, addresses a variety of consumer and insurance issues from auto insurance to disaster planning. It is partially based on questions received from more than 300,000 consumers who called the DFS last year.
Here are some examples of how Floridians can use the Insurance Library:
- People looking for information about their home insurance policies can find information about agents, cancellation/non-renewal, deductibles, and more. They can also drill down further to find information about specific types of coverage, such as insuring your home’s contents.
- Floridians who are enrolled in medical prescription plans can learn more about their discount plans and possible warning signs of fraudulent agreements.
- Boat owners can find information ranging from locating coverage to boat owner responsibilities before and after a storm.
